Tired Of Your Skin? Have A Look At These Tips

By Marisa Asent

If you have started to notice the pass of time in your face and now have a complexion that is sagging, with crow's feet or maybe marionette lines, you are not the only one. Aging skin is one of the consequences of getting older, no one is free from it, but there are certainly many things you can try to always look your best. You should be concentrating your efforts on three areas: an effective skin care program, a healthy diet and an active lifestyle.

1- The best you can do for your skin as you get older is to provide it with an effective skin care routine. There are great skin care cosmetics with active ingredients to combat the effects of aging skin and restore that fresh look to the skin.

2- If you have dry skin, chances are your wrinkles are more noticeable. To help with a dry complexion make sure you use a good moisturizer with humectants ingredients. These will keep the skin hydrated by taking water from the air. Drinking water and using a hydrating mask twice per week should also form part of your fight against dry skin and wrinkles.

3- One of the reasons the skin begins to sag and form wrinkles is the loss of collagen and elastin. These proteins when plentiful maintain the skin plump and elastic, but as we age their production diminish and the decadence of the skin begins. A good way to boost collagen and elastin production is by making use of appropriate skin care products and treatments that will provide the skin with a younger appearance.

4- A healthy and balanced diet is important to maintain the skin looking younger and free of blemishes. You need to incorporate plenty of foods containing antioxidants to your daily diet. Antioxidants are important to fight free radicals and enjoy good health. And they are also effective in preserving the skin from oxidation and helping to combat aging skin.

5- Effective antioxidants you can find on skin care products today include green tea and vitamins E, C and A. All vitamins play an important role in the organism, but these ones are specially good to protect the skin from skin issues related to aging. A few of their benefits to the skin include improving its texture, accelerating collagen production, repairing acne scars, helping with acne conditions, boosting elasticity, reducing stretch marks, protecting from UV light and diminishing lines and wrinkles. Green tea could also help to accelerate the metabolism and reduce body fat.

6- Using a weekly facial mask will get rid of dead cells, improving the skin's texture. To make a face mask at home full of antioxidant power mix two spoons of red wine with two spoons of honey. Apply over the areas you want to rejuvenate such as face and neck and leave for fifteen minutes. Wine contains resveratrol which is said to one of the most potent antioxidants and honey has moisturizing and anti-bacterial properties. A winning combination!

7- Incorporate exercise into your daily life to enjoy optimal health and good skin. We have heard the health benefits that exercise bring so take advantage of this and make the effort of being more active. Chose activities that you enjoy doing, alone or with friends. These could be something like Pilates, tennis, line or salsa dancing, power walking or even gardening. The important thing is to be active for as long as you can.

There are more steps not included here that you could follow too to boost your health and the overall appearance of the skin. Two very important things that you must follow too, is to stop smoking and protect the skin with sunscreen daily. Your quality of life will improve if you make the effort of following these tips.
